Generations
There are three different generations, each with more functionality. Below, we’ll explain the generations for you.
FRM 1
Another name for this is the FRM FA. This is the first and oldest generation. This module doesn’t offer advanced features, such as leaving and coming home lights. Therefore, it might be worthwhile to upgrade this module to a newer generation.

FRM2
This module offers the additional functionality of leaving home lights. This means the lights turn on as soon as you unlock the car.
This module also allows you to turn on only the Angel Eyes (angry eyes), without turning on the low beams/xenons. This creates an especially attractive daytime display.
This module is very easy to distinguish from the other versions.
FRM3
This is the most recent version of the lighting module. Unlike the FRM2, it’s also possible to activate the coming-home lights. This means the lights will remain on for a while after you arrive at your destination. This is also called the homecoming light.

LM and LM2
There’s quite a bit of confusion online about the E60, E61, E63 & E64. It’s often said that these models are also equipped with an FRM module. However, this isn’t true. These models are equipped with either an LM or an LM2.
From the LM2 onwards, support for leaving home lights has been built in.
Upgrade
It’s possible to upgrade the FRM module to a newer generation. This allows you to use the latest functionality.
Hagenaar Carware can carry out this complete retrofit, including delivery of the module, installation, and professional programming.
