We believe that specialization and focus are crucial. That’s why we focus solely on software and electronics. We don’t perform routine maintenance tasks (such as engine oil changes).
Location and opening hours
We perform most of our software work remotely. We operate from a modern workshop in Sliedrecht (South Holland). We are easily accessible from Gorinchem, Dordrecht, and Rotterdam. Most clients don’t even visit us; we support them entirely remotely. Thanks to our remote capabilities, we can support clients worldwide. Curious about how we work remotely? Remote Support
We work by appointment only. We are normally available during regular business hours, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM. In exceptional circumstances, we are also available in the evenings and on Saturdays.

History
Carware was born out of a love for cars and IT. The company was founded by Jan Hagenaar. Jan had been tinkering with electronics and computers since childhood. His first computer programs were written in Windows 95 and Windows XP while still in primary school. He found software so fascinating that he later studied Computer Science at Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences.
In 2017, Jan bought his first BMW and began delving deeper into car software. He learned to read modules, reprogram, and perform diagnostics. This is how it grew into Hagenaar Carware, which now has thousands of satisfied customers. From 2025 onwards, we will continue operating under the name Carware.
